At Adelaide Brake and Mechanical, we are your trusted experts in Mechanical Repairs and Braking for all types of trailers and cars. Since opening our doors over 15 years ago and headed up by business owner John Moens, a graduate of Croydon Park College of Automotive Engineering (1989), our reputation has been built upon outstanding customer care aligned with quality products and repairs.

What we do

We have the latest tools and equipment to diagnose any problem you are experiencing. We can also build custom brake systems for new and older model vehicles. Unlike most mechanics we specialise in drum and disc brake repairs in-house with our own machining and perform a range of mechanical repairs for cars and four-wheel drives, including logbook servicing and diagnostic repairs on late model vehicles. If you’re in need of any repairs or solution for your vehicle or trailer. We are South Australia’s distributor for Hydrastar brake actuators and DeeMax Premium trailer brake systems, so we can supply, service and repair these critical systems.   We also service and repair American trailers as we stock most parts.

You just completed a brake and bearing complete job on my tandem trailer.  It’s the first time since new the brakes are capable of pulling up my Landcruiser if turned on too much, but properly adjusted the brakes are BRILLIANT.

This email is a bit late, but I did want to thank you for beautiful work. Making our tandem trailer fully roadworthy with brakes that work perfectly, regardless of distance on dirt roads, between braking cycles is a real relief.
As you were aware the previous inappropriate disc brakes, incorrectly fitted, put me a little on edge regarding their appropriateness for a good number of kilometres on often corrugated dirt roads. I thank you for taking the time to point out all the faults with the previous installation, including inadequate washers used to apply preload to the wheel bearings. We had previously spent a lot of money with the trailer manufacturer, going from bad brakes to none at all.
While we may still replace this trailer down the track with a heavier build unit, I am confident that brakes and wheel bearings are not the area of continual concern.
Thank you too for keeping the cost down on this job. It is truly appreciated.
